This album is like a rolloer coaster wayne had his up and down ex. my 2 fav. tracks "on fire" and "Drop the World" both went hard showing hip rock could be decent but tracks like "Knockout" show why Jemi Hendrix should stay as the best black rocker. it depends on your prefences in music to see how much you like this album

« Not bad for a rapper »
When i first listened to this album i wasn't too pleased with it. The only songs that really stood out were "Drop the World" and "Paradice" that was it. Listened to it a few more times and pretty soon i caught myself at work humming some of the songs i didn't even know i liked. As of right now i'm pretty pleased with it. My expectations were not to high for this album in the first place, but i was very curious to see what weezy could do with a guitar and some drums, overall i'm impressed. Noteworthy songs include "Paradice", "Drop the World", "Runnin", "On Fire" and "One Way Trip". The worst song on here is probably "The Price is Wrong" and its pretty bad. Definitley Give this album quite a few listens before you judge it.

« You Ok Wayne? »
I was looking forward to the newest Lil Wayne LP, but then I noticed all the negative reviews it was picking up. I figured "Oh must just be a case of jealousy on the part of the reviewers who have a grudge against either Hip Hop or Lil Wayne." You know that term culture has coined as "Hatters"? Well those are the people who dislike things or others or ideas just for the sake of jealousy and hate, I figured that must be the case as I have enjoyed Waynes previous efforts. Then I had the misfortune of listening to this album and finding little if anything to enjoy about it. The production here is very sloppy, neither the auto-tune "singing" by Wayne nor even the lyrics he drops help shape anything that resembles a good listen. An LP this bad could hurt Wayne if he turns off his own fan base to what made him the best selling artist in 2008. Tha Carter LP's earned him tremendous accolades and sold millions of copies. So was this album just a test bed for his strange creativity or has Lil Wayne gone off the deep end? I'm all for trying new things and stretching your horizons but this LP is like when a guy gets up in front of a crowd and tells a bad joke which no one laughs at and you start to feel embarrassed for that person.

« Best album of the year so far »
I will tell you that this is the first review I have ever written. I am a 30 year old nurse and believe I have earned a right to a opinion. This album is by far the best album of the year for so many reasons. Wayne is a musical genuis. Just give this album a try. Its not rap or rock by far. Wayne has created a perfect mix.

« Just read the review... »
To state the obvious this is a rock-heavy album. If you don't like distorted guitars then just stay away from this album...Simple enough. If you listen to rock regularly or sparingly I think this album is worth a couple of listens. Overall the album lacks flow and a uniform sound, but there are a few gems to be found. My favorite tracks include the following:

"Prom Queen" - When I first heard that Wayne was doing a rock album this is what I imagined it would sound like. Shanell is the showcase of this track.
"On Fire" - Classic club hit.
"Drop the World" - Eminem really stole the show on this track. This is the most Rap/HipHop track on the whole album.
"Runnin'" - I'm a big fan of Flyleaf and bands that sound like them. Shanell's vocals on this track is reminiscent of a Flyleaf track.
"One Way Trip" - This track showcases Travis Parker's drumming along with Kevin Rudolf's clean/classic rock vocals.
"The Price Is Wrong" - I just like this one because Lil' Wayne's vocal delivery reminds me of something from a Bad Brains track (most people hate it though).

Definitely approach this album with an open mind and you may find something you like. Fortunately you can just buy the tracks you like, because there are definitely some songs worth skipping :) Overall this is a C+ album.
