Product description

A man buys a Mogwai as a Christmas present for his son. The young boy is told to keep the pet away from water, out of the light and never to feed it after midnight. Inadvertently, the creature is dampened and almost instantly, produces half a dozen furry replicas of itself --which continue to multiply and turn the small town upside-down.

Gremlins is a whee of a film (if you don't mind the occasional gross-out) from producer Steven Spielberg, writer Chris Columbus, and director Joe Dante. Zach Galligan is the young man whose inventor father (Hoyt Axton) gives him an odd Christmas present: a tiny, furry creature that comes with a set of rules: don't get him wet, don't feed him after midnight, and keep him away from direct sunlight. But Galligan breaks the first rule and the damp little critter pops out a dozen little offspring. Then the offspring break the second rule and, overnight, turn from cute furry guys to malevolent scaly guys with world domination on their mind. The only way to stop them: rule three. But it's an anxious (and extremely funny) battle to make it to daylight--and the bad gremlins find ways to multiply over and over. Great special effects and a gruesome sense of humor make this a wild (if occasionally dark and scary) ride. --Marshall Fine

« Gizmo »
80s kiddie horror featuring the Gizmo character. Gremlins let loose on a town on Xmas Eve. It was a decent picture, though I wouldn't recommend it.

The Debut of Gizmo! Gremlins is a funny but weird yet silly gross movie, I like that this is set in Christmas but I prefer Part 2 since it's alot funnier.

« SCARY for everyone under 14!!! It also traumatizes all parents with kids watching! »
I watched this about a year ago with my mom and i was traumatized and afraid of microwaves for a week, I am NOT kidding!

This film is not suitable for kids at all! I was surprised that it was rated PG, It should be rated PG-13 or R (but that rating didn't exist when this movie debuted). I was shocked that this was made by Steven Spielberg. It was more like Tobe Hooper (director of TCM), Sean Cunningham (directed Halloween), and Wes Craven all came together and made this movie. Most people would call this "comedy" but really, every scene except the first scene where he purchases the mogwai is HORROR!!! HORROR!!! HORROR!!! and even the first scene still makes you a little nervous! The first gremlins die in very very very very very very very gruesome ways that Amazon might not accept my review if i mentioned them at all.

Overall, This is a horrible movie. All parents should be warned of this movie, Heck almost every scene is either gruesome or scary!!!! There's either a gremlin popping out at you from a cabinet or dying in a gruesome way...

PARENTS! PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN FROM THIS MOVIE! IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH AT ALL OR ARE DEATHLY AFRAID OF ANY COLORED BLOOD DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE!!! ALSO IF YOU SEE THIS MOVIE IN THEATRES WITH 3D DO NOT SEE IT!!!

I was 9 years old when i watched this for the first time.

« WARNING; YOU MIGHT FEEL A LITTLE AJABDXFAFHXZDGI SBBDFXDJ BNMDCJBCUJD OR JUST FEEL A LITTLE FUNNY. FOR GIZMO. »
i loved it. hep hep hep hep hep hep hep hep hep hep hep hep! but i like the sequel better. it's better then the book but complety different. the gremlins were in a lot of stuff. like the two looney tunes falling hare and russian rhapsody. like the book the movie was based on. like nightmare at 20,000 feet, there is something on the wing made me laugh out loud. and the treehouse of horror IV. i remember they were on some tiny toon special. it was funny in madagascar 2 when alex thought mort was a gremlin. in ace ventura 2 i liked when ace said the quote there is something on the wing. i remember when they were in the ghostbusters cartoon. was'nt a gremlin one of stanley's monsters? i laughed when in goonies the police was like '' yeah like the prank when you said there were creatures that multiplied when you get them wet''. none were better than gremlins and gremlins 2. OK bye i'm going to review james and the giant peach.
